Diverzitet i bionomija štitastih vaši iz familije Coccidae proučavani su u periodu od 2015. do 2017. godine u 40 lokaliteta na teritoriji Srbije i 37 lokacija na području Beograda, i u laboratoriji Poljoprivrednog fakulteta u Beogradu. Sa 53 biljnih vrsta, svrstanih u 28 botaničkih familija, sakupljeno je i determinisano 16 vrsta štitastih vaši iz familije Coccidae. Za faunu Srbije, novih je pet vrsta vaši: Ceroplastes rusci (L.), Coccus hesperidum (L.), Coccus pseudomagnoliarum (Kuwana), Neopulvinaria innumerabilis (Rathvon) i Pulvinaria floccifera (Westwood). Za četiri vrste vaši utvrđeno je 6 novih biljaka domaćina, što predstavlja nove podatke u domaćoj i stranoj literaturi. Coccus hesperidum je prvi put utvrđena na Polypodium vulgare L., Eulecanium tiliae (L.) na Celtis australis L., Neopulvinaria innumerabilis na Maclura pomifera (Raf.) i Ulmus minor Mill., a Pulvinaria floccifera na Acer negundo L. i Acer pseudoplatanus L.. Na području Srbije, Parthenolecanium corni (Bouché) je utvrđena na 13 novih biljaka domaćina, Eulecanium tiliae na 9, a Parthenolecanium fletcheri (Cockerell) na jednom novom domaćinu. Intenzitet napada vaši varirao je od 1 (prisutne pojedinačne jedinke) do 3 i 4 (prisutne brojne kolonije). Usled ishrane vašiju na nadzemnim delovima biljaka i lučenja medne rose, nastaje sušenje i opadanje lišća, zastoj u porastu i razvoju biljke, sušenje grana kao i celih biljaka. Najveće štete zabeležene su od Ceroplastes rusci na Ficus carica L., Parthenolecanium fletcheri na Thuja occidentalis L. var. Tiny-Tin u rasadničkoj proizvodnji, i Pulvinaria hydrangeae (Steinweden) na Hydrangea macrophylla (Thunb.). Sa 16 vrsta vaši, sakupljeno je i odgajeno 58 vrsta prirodnih neprijatelja, od kojih su 41 vrsta parazitoidi, a 17 vrsta predatori...

For the Serbian fauna, there are five new species: Ceroplastes rusci (L.), Coccus hesperidum (L.), Coccus pseudomagnoliarum (Kuwana), Neopulvinaria innumerabilis (Rathvon) and Pulvinaria floccifera (Westwood). For four scale insect species, 6 new host plants have been identified, which presents new data in Serbian and foreign literature. Coccus hesperidum was determined for the first time on Polypodium vulgare L., Eulecanium tiliae (L.) on Celtis australis L., Neopulvinaria innumerabilis on Maclura pomifera (Raf.) and Ulmus minor Mill., and Pulvinaria floccifera on Acer negundo L. and Acer pseudoplatanus L. In Serbia, Parthenolecanium corni (Bouché) was determined on 13 new host plants, Eulecanium tiliae on 9, and Parthenolecanium fletcheri (Cockerell) on one new host. The intensity of scale insects attack ranged from 1 (one individual present) to 3 and 4 (numerous colonies present). Scale insects feeding on the plants overground parts and honeydew secretion, leads to leaves wilting, plant growth and development slowdown, dying of the branches as well as whole plants. The greatest damage was recorded from Ceroplastes rusci on the Ficus carica L., Parthenolecanium fletcheri on the Tuja occidentalis var. Tiny-Tin in nursery production, and Pulvinaria hydrangeae (Steinweden) on Hydrangea macrophylla (Thunb.). From 16 species of scale insects, 58 species of natural enemies were collected and reared, of which 41 species are parasitoids and 17 species are predators...
