Најбољи начин да научна достигнућа у пољопривредној производњи буду примењена у пракси на сеоским газдинствима је пољопривредна саветодавна служба. Један од предуслова унапређења пољопривредне производње на сељачким газдинствима је пољопривредна саветодавна служба и од улагања средстава у развој пољопривредног саветодавства зависи и развој саме пољопривреде. Основни циљ пољопривредне саветодавне службе је едукација и усавршавање пољопривредних произвођача у циљу побољшања производно економских показатеља на газдинству. Искуства развијених земаља у погледу развоја пољопривредне саветодавне службе,модела организовања и финансирања, могу да допринесу успостављању одговарајућег модела саветодавства. У Србији је присутно државно организовано и финансирано пољопривредно саветодавство и овај модел саветодавства тренутно одговара друштвено економским условима с обзиром на чињеницу да је пољопривреда скоро у целини организована на породичним пољопривредним газдинствима. У унапређењу пољопривредне производње на сеоским газдинствима саветодавна служба спроводи одређене активности и методе рада. Да би пољопривредна саветодавна служба успешно реализовала своје активности које се односе на пружање услуга, едукацију и обуку пољопривредних произвођача она мора да буде правилно организована. Различити приступи и модели организовања пољопривредне саветодавне службе развијених земаља, показују да сваки од њих има одређене предности и недостатке. Све то представља полазну основу за проналажење адекватног модела организације, активности саветодаваца и метода рада пољопривредне саветодавне службе која би у нашим условима дала најповољније резултате. На подручју северног Косова саветодавна служба би требало да подстиче развој пољопривреде и побољшање економских ефеката на газдинству, образовање пољопривредника и друге активности које би требало да допринесу даљем развоју овог подручја.

The best way to implement scientific achievements in agricultural production in practice on country farms is the Agricultural Extension Service. One of the preconditions for the improving the agricultural production on country farms is the agricultural advisory service. The development of the agriculture itself depends of investing in the Agricultural Extension Service. The main objective of the Agricultural Extension Service is education and training of farmers to improve production and other economic indicators on the farm. The experience of developed countries in terms of development of agricultural advisory services,organizational models and funding, can contribute the establishment of an appropriate model of agricultural advisory service. In Serbia there is state organized and financed Agricultural Extension Service and this advisory model is currently in accordance with the socio economic conditions due to the fact that agriculture in Serbia is almost entirely organized on the family farms. For the improvement of agricultural production on country farms Agricultural Extension Service conducts certain activities and methods. To implement successfully its activities relating to the provision of services, education and training of farmers, Agricultural Extension Service have to be properly organized. Various approaches and models of organization of agricultural advisory services in developed countries show that each of them has certain advantages and disadvantages. All this provides a starting point for finding an adequate model of organization, activities and work methods of advisors of Agricultural Extension Service, which, in our circumstances gave the best results. In the area of Northern Kosovo the Agricultural Extension Service should encourage the development of agriculture and the improvement of the economic effects on the farm, educations of farmers and other activities that should contribute further development of this area.
