У овом раду учињен је покушај да се утврде неке опште и посебне карактеристике затвореника који припадају националним мањинама, а налазе се на издржавању казне у пеналним установама Републике Србије, како би се јасније профилисао идентитет тих људи и пронашле адекватне мере за побољшање њиховог положаја и за њихову ефикаснију интеграцију како у пеналним установама, тако и након изласка на слободу.У том циљу, као први корак, учињен је покушај да се утврди етнички/национални идентитет испитаника, и његов значај у целокупном систему идентитета појединаца и група на издржавању казне.Истраживање јерађено у Окружном затвору у Новом Пазару,Окружном затвору Суботица, Казнено-поправном заводу Ниш и Казнено-поправном заводу Ћуприја,током 2012. и 2013. године , а узорак су чинила осуђена лица припадници националних мањина која су у време истраживања тамо издржавала затворску казну (N=196).За потребе прикупљања грађе која указује на културолошке разлике у ширем смислу направљен је инструмент који се састојао од питања којима се утврђује етнички/национални идентитет испитаника, али и инструменти којима се утврђују неке посебне културне специфичности. За прикупљање социодемографских и криминолошко- пенолошких података о осуђеним лицима направљен је инструмент, који је обухватао податке из ових области, док смо за утврђивање националне везаности, користили адаптирани облик Ротове и Хавелкине „Скале облика националне диференцијације“ која је конструисана за испитивање односа према националној припадности.За потребе истраживања стратегија које користе припадници националних мањина, коришћене су: скала социјалних стратегија којом се испитују различите врсте когнитивних и бихевиоралних стратегија, скала смисла живота како они свој живот доживљавају,скала зрелости религиозности где се изражавају различито зрела поимања религиозности,скала осетљивости на неправду која описује различите реакције на перципирану неправду и скала социјалне и емоционалне усамљености која испитујe социјалну и емоционалну усамљеност. Посматрали смо међусобне културолошке и религијске разлике између припадника националних мањина који се налазе на издржавању казне затвора, као и између припадника мањина и већинске популације по различитим параметрима, као и њихову националну везаност. Какве социјалне стратегије користе, како свој живот доживљавају када се налaзе у затвору, колика им је религиозна зрелост, како реагују на неправду и њихов однос са другим особама, пријатељима, породицом као и себи блиским особама. Истраживали смо њихова социјална и демографскаобележја, као криминолошке и пенолошке проблеме са којима су они суочени.

In this paper, there has been a try to confirm some of general and specific characteristics of prisoners who belong to national minorities, and they are at serving their prison sentences in penalty institutions in the Republic of Serbia, so as to profile more efficiently the identity of these persons and find adequate measures to improve their position and their more efficient integration, both within penalty institutions and after being free. For that aim, as the first step, there has been a try to confirm ethnical/national identity of the examinees, and its significance in the entire system of an individual identity and group, serving of a prison sentence. The research has been performed in the District Prison in Novi Pazar, District Prison in Subotica, Penal Home in Nis and Penal Home in Cuprija during 2012 and 2013, and the sample consists of convicted persons members of national minorities who have served their sentences at the time of research (N=196). For the needs of material collecting that emphasises onto cultural differences in a broader sense, an instrument has been made consisted of questions that confirm ethnical/national identity of the examinees, and also instruments that confirn certiain cultural specifics. For collecting of socio-demographic and criminal-penology data on convicted persons, an instrument has been made that included data from these areas, while for confirmation of national connection, an adapted model of Rot and Havelkin Scale “ The Scale of National Differentiation Form” has been constructed for examining relations towards national belonging. For the needs of research of strategies that members of national minority use, it has been used: a social strategy scale that examins different types of cognitive and behavioral strategies, a life sense scale to examine how they experince life, a maturity religion scale where different mature understanding of religion have been expressed, a sensitivity scale on injustice that describes different reactions onto perceived injustice and a social and emotial solitude scale that examins social and emotional solitude. We have observed mutual cultural and religious differences among national minority members who are at serving their prison sentences, and also among members and majority and minority population per different parametres, and their national connection. It has also been examined what social strategies they use, how they experience their life when being in prison, how much they are religiously mature, how they react onto injustice and their relation with other persons, friends, family and their close persons. We have researched their social and demographic features, and criminal and penology issues they are being faced with.
