Преглед бројних локалитета, регистрованих у близини термалних и минералних извора у оквиру граница римских провинција на територији данашње Србије, показао је велики спектар различитог типа налазишта који се, директно или посредно, могу повезати са експлоатацијом лековитих вода. Стање истражености већине локалитета није довољно да би се добиле прецизне слике о некадашњим бањским комплексима или култним местима поред лековитих извора, али одређене индиције више него јасно указују да су благодети појединих извора биле познате, коришћене и поштоване и током античког периода. Практична корист коју су носиле термалне и минералне воде, спојена са лако створивом мистиком везаном за воде неуобичајене по топлоти, укусу или боји, свакако су створиле бројна веровања лако уклопљива у антички верски синкретизам, али и остварила могућност за њихово коришћење у свакодневном животу, што сигурно није могло да промакне предузимљивом духу Римљана. Преглед античких локалитета у близини термалних извора, у ради је конципиран на основу поделе Србије на хидрогеолошке реоне (Реон Дакијског басена, Реон Карпато-балканида, Реон Српског кристаластог језгра, Шумадијско-копаоничко-косовски реон и Реон Динарида западне Србије) Назнаке о траговима коришћења термалних и минералних вода систематизоване су кроз најбитније ставке везане за коришћење бањских комплекса у античком периоду...

An overview of the numerous sites registered in the vicinity of the thermal and mineral springs, within the boundaries of the Roman provinces on the territory of today's Serbia, has shown a wide range of various types of sites, which could, directly or indirectly, be put in relation to the exploitation of the healing waters. The present state of the exploration of the majority of sites is insufficient for having the accurate images of the former spa complexes or the cult places near the healing springs, but certain clues more than clearly indicate that the benefits of some of the springs were known, used and respected even during the Antique period. The practical benefit that the thermal and mineral water had, combined with the easy creatable mistique associated with the water unusual for its heat, taste or colour, certainly created the numerous beliefs easy to fit into the antique religious syncretism, but so created the possibility for its usage in the everyday life, what certainly could not slip by the enterpreneurial spirit of Romans. An overview of the antique sites in the vicinity of the thermal springs is in this work conceptualized on the basis of the division of Serbia into the hydrogeological regions (the Region of Dacian Basin, the Region of Carpatho – Balkanids, the Region of Serbian crystalline core, the Sumadija – Kopaonik – Kosovo Region and the Region of Dinarides of Western Serbia). The indicators of the traces of the thermal and mineral waters usage were systematized through the most important issues related to the usage of the spa complexes in the antique period.
