This doctoral dissertation is dedicated to the research of the models of representation, i.e., the forms of presenting the ruling family of the Wallachian Prince Neagoe Basarab in the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God of the Monastery of Curtea de Argeș. Voivode Neagoe Basaraba expresses his personal microcosm and the microcosm of his ruling family as an expression of piety and devotion to Orthodoxy through various means of visual representation. Therefore, the subject of research of this doctoral dissertation is not only the founder's portraits but also the overall visuality and visual identity of the Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God of the monastery of Curtea de Argeș. To gain a fuller insight into the programmatic idea, the dissertation also examines preserved portraits and inscriptions in other churches and monasteries, as well as icons and liturgical fabrics that the ruling family commissioned as gifts to various shrines. Finally, when it comes to preserved written sources, attention is given to the charters and to the literary work of the prince known as the Teachings of Neagoe Basarab to his son of Theodosius.

Ова докторска дисертација посвећена је истраживању модела репрезентације, тј. видовима представљања владарске породице влашког војводе Њагоја Басарабе у цркви Успења Богородице манастира Куртеа де Арђеш. Војвода Њагоје Басараба свој лични микрокосмос и микрокосмос своје владарске породице исказује као израз побожности и привржености православљу кроз различита средства визуелне репрезентације. Стога предмет истраживања ове докторске дисертације нису само ктиторски портрети, већ и укупна визуелност и визуелни идентитет цркве Успења Богородице у Куртеа де Арђешу. Да би се добио потпунији увид у програмску замисао, у дисертацији се разматрају и сачувани портрети и натписи у другим црквама и манастирима, као и иконе и богослужбене тканине које је владарска породица поручивала као дарове различитим светињама. Најзад, када је реч о сачуваним писаним изворима, пажња је посвећена повељама и делу војводе познатом под насловом Учење Њагоја Басарабе сину Теодосију.
