Сажетак: У раду ће бити представљен и анализиран поступак тумачења авангардног кратког романа у критици Александра Јовано- вића на примерима двају романа из тог периода – Крила Станислава Кракова и Црвене магле Драгише Васића. Посебно ћемо се осврнути на Јовановићев препознатљив интертекстуални приступ у анализи текстова, повезивање владајућих поетичких одлика експресионизма са идејом и стилом оба ова романа, као и на његову окренутост семи- отичком и филозофском приступу књижевноуметничком делу. Ана- лизираћемо Јовановићеву критику објављивану у књижевним ча- сописима седамдесетих, осамдесетих и деведесетих година прошлог века, а све са циљем тумачења како његовог критичарског приступа уопште тако и приступа поменутим романима авангарде чија тума- чења је аутор објединио у монографији под насловом О историји, сећањима и самоћи. Указаћемо и на новине и допринос Јовановиће- вог тумачења поменутих кратких романа српске авангарде у кон- тексту српске књижевне критике двадесетог века.

Summary In the paper, we tried to show Aleksandar Jovanović’s literary-theoretical and literary-critical approach to two, out of three (he also includes Dnevnik o Čarnojeviću by Miloš Crnjanski), according to his opinion, representative examples of the short novel of the Serbian avant-garde – Krila by Stanislav Krakow and Crvene magle by Dragiša Vasić. Through a comparative analysis of the opinions of the leading critics of the 20th century about the mentioned novels, we noticed that Jovanović, relying on them, partly surpassed them in the comprehensiveness and precision of the analysis and contributed to a complete picture of Krakov’s and Vasić’s novels. If we look at the structure of Jovanović’s criticism, we will notice one consistency in approach. Namely, he begins the analysis of the novel by classifying the work in a social- historical, literary-historical and literary-critical context; then he talks about war as the main theme or main character of the work, and then in a short introduction, that is, an overview of his further criticism, he explains what he will write about, according to the principle of first synthesis, then analysis, moving along a deductive path. Through a brief presentation of the plot of the novel, its genre determination, he comments on the composition (with a special emphasis on the semiotic approach to the literary text and the separation of the opening and closing parts of the novel) and the stylistic structure of the text; narrative techniques; characters and their mutual relations; characteristics of expressionist poetics in the novel; The „blooming of the erotic“ in the vicinity of death is illuminated from a deeply philosophical aspect, as is the title of the work. Guided by an immanent approach to the literary work, with the inevitable knowledge of the socio-historical context in which the work is created and the intertextual connections between the works of the same writer that in a joint connection can contribute to the elucidation of the characters and events, Jovanović, through an overview, step-by-step and argumentative process of interpreting the mentioned novels, and by no means forgetting about the soul of the literary work, he made an extremely large contribution to the interpretation, understanding and reader’s reception of two somewhat extreme works of avant-garde novelistic prose in our country.
