Докторска дисертација под насловом Трговински односи Италије и Југославије (1963-1978) приказује, користећи необјављене архивске изворе и доступне статистичке податке, развој трговинских односа ове две земље, и кроз њих приказује промене кроз које су пролазиле њихова привреда и друштво. Ови односи имали су позитиван тренд у првим годинама након 1963. године када је потписан трговински споразум којим је робна размена између две стране у већој мери либерализована. Проблеми у размени настају 1968. године, када Европска економска заједница преузима надлежности у области спољне трговине од Италије, што доводи до доношења рестриктивних мера за главни југословенски извозни производ, говеђе месо, под утицајем Француске. Југославија и Европска економска заједница успевају да постигну договор 1970. године након којег трговински односи са Италијом поново крећу узлазном путањом. Ипак, енергетска криза из 1973. године прекида овај позитиван тренд и доводи до значајног погоршања трговинских односа две стране. Последњи део рада говори о периоду након 1974. године, када је размена Италије и Југославије била у опадању и када се Југославија окреће другим партнерима, пре свега Совјетском Савезу. Циљ истраживања био је да објасни главне узроке који су довели до оваквог развоја економских односа, и допринесе бољем разумевању функционисања привредних система две државе. У дисертацији се такође анализира структура трговинске размене, и нарочито структура југословенског извоза у Италију у овом периоду. Поред тога, обрађене су теме и из неформалних трговинских односа и проблема југословенске спољнотрговинске мреже у Италији. Коначно, у дисертацији је приказан и развој економске сарадње између две стране у области индустријске кооперације и пограничне трговинске размене.

Doctoral dissertation „Trade relations between Italy and Yugoslavia (1963-1978) “shows, using unpublished archival sources and available statistical data, the development of trade relations between these two countries, and through them point out the changes that their economy and society went through. These relations had a positive trend in the first years after 1963, when a trade agreement was signed that liberalized trade between the two parties to a greater extent. Problems in the exchange arose in 1968, when the European Economic Community took over the responsibilities in the field of foreign trade from Italy, which led to the adoption of restrictive measures for the main Yugoslav export product, beef, under the influence of France. Yugoslavia and the European Economic Community manage to reach an agreement in 1970, after which trade relations with Italy once again take an upward path. However, the energy crisis of 1973 interrupted this positive trend and led to a significant deterioration in trade relations between the two sides. The last part of the paper talks about the period after 1974, when the exchange between Italy and Yugoslavia was declining and when Yugoslavia turned to other partners, primarily the Soviet Union. The goal of the research was to explain the main causes that led to this development of economic relations, and to contribute to a better understanding of the functioning of the economic systems of the two countries. The dissertation also analyzes the structure of trade exchange, and especially the structure of Yugoslav exports to Italy in this period. In addition, topics from informal trade relations and problems of the Yugoslav foreign trade network in Italy were covered. Finally, the dissertation shows the development of economic cooperation between the two sides in the field of industrial cooperation and cross-border trade exchange.
