The digital transformation of the electricity sector from traditional electric grids to smart grids [1] is driven by multiple factors [2], while the emerging information technologies (e.g., Big data, semantic technologies, machine learning algorithms) play a relevant role of automation and control of the energy value chain. Despite recognized as crucial applications for efficiently generating and consuming energy, Big data applications in the energy domain are still underdeveloped and fragmented. Challenges related to controlled data exchange and data integration are still not fully achieved. Hence, the fragmented applications are developed against energy data silos, and data exchange is limited. After the announcement of the Google Knowledge Graph [3] in 2012, semantic technologies and knowledge graphs (KGs) gained in popularity. They have been applied in various domains, especially to enhance the integration of distributed resources over the Internet, e.g., for facilitating product/service discovery [4], managing business registers and company data [5], managing drug data [6], or emergency management [7]. In this technical solution, the authors propose tools for managing data and deriving knowledge [8] in the energy sector aimed at specifying new business models.
