Циљ дисертације је да прикаже и објасни одвијање југословенско-совјетскихекономских односа у периоду од 1945. до 1964. Тема је сагледана у контексту политичкиходноса две државе, пошто су исти пресудно утицали на одвијање економске сарадње. Токомразматране две деценије, економски односи Југославије и Совјетског Савеза били суподложни осцилацијама, смени успона и падова, и прошли су кроз више различитих фаза. Уосновним цртама посматрано, када су односи између две државе били добри, долазило је доширења економске сарадње и СССР је – у складу са могућностима – настојао да пружиекономску помоћ ФНРЈ. Наспрам тога, периоди захлађења у политичким односима били супраћени сужавање привредне сарадње, совјетским економским притиском на ФНРЈ, па ивишегодишњом економском блокадом. Пошто се крупни привредни планови у вези саоснивањем производних мешовитих друштава нису остварили, а извршавање више значајнихкредитних аранжмана је било прекидано услед нарушених прилика на релацији Београд–Москва, најважнији облик економске сарадње током разматраног периода била је робнаразмена. Велико, и не толико захтевно, „тржиште“ СССР-а је било у стању да прихватиразличите југословенске производе, а „прва земља социјализма“ је, заузврат, могла даиспоручује ФНРЈ неопходне сировине и полуфабрикате, као и различите машине ииндустријску опрему. Економски односи су представљали важну област југословенско-совјетске билатералне сарадње у разматраном периоду, али им у досадашњимисториографским радовима, уз ретке изузетке, није била посвећена већа пажња. Дисертацијомје попуњена постојећа празнина у историографији и омогућено потпуније сагледавањејугословенско-совјетских односа у наведеном периоду. Осим тога, она представља и прилогпознавању српско/југословенско-руских/совјетских економских односа уопште.

This dissertation aims to show and explain the development of Yugoslav-Sovieteconomic relations in the period from 1945 until 1964. The topic was observed in the context ofpolitical relations between the two countries since those relations were crucial for the developmentof economic cooperation. During the two observed decades, the economic relations were subject tofluctuations, alternating ups and downs, and went through several different phases. Basically, whenthe relations between the two countries were good, the economic cooperation was expanding and theUSSR, in accordance with its capabilities, was disposed towards providing economic aid to theFederal People’s Republic of Yugoslavia (FPRY). In contrast, the periods of poor political relationswere accompanied by a decline in economic cooperation, the Soviet economic pressure on the FPRY,and even the economic blockade which lasted for several years. Since the large economic plans whichencompassed the founding of joint-stock companies were not accomplished, and the execution ofseveral important loan arrangements was interrupted due to dwindling relations between Belgradeand Moscow, the most important mode of economic cooperation during the observed period wastrade. The large, but not too demanding market of the USSR was capable of accepting variousYugoslav products, and in return “The First Socialist Country” was able to deliver the raw materialsand semi-finished products, as well as all sorts of machinery and industrial equipment to the FPRY.The economic relations were an important aspect of the Yugoslav-Soviet bilateral cooperation duringthe observed period, but they were not the focus of research in contemporary historiography, with afew notable examples. This dissertation fills the existing gap in historiography and enables a morecomplete observation of the Yugoslav-Soviet relations in the aforementioned period. Besides that, itpresents a contribution to the knowledge of Serbian/Yugoslav-Russian/Soviet economic relations ingeneral.
