The Quality of Vocational Training and the Position of the Individual in the Labour market in Serbia
This chapter identifies the quality of short-term vocational training in Serbia and its correlation with the changing position of individuals in the labour market. The results indicate that the trainees’ expectations were to a certain extent fulfilled concerning the quality of short-term vocational training. The lowest quality of training was recorded in the dimensions of Training process and Equipment and tools. The results show that training was characterised by low level of work operations and that the number of training hours was insufficient to obtain an adequate quality of vocational competencies. The expectations of the trainees were substantially fulfilled in relation to the quality of the work of lecturers and instructors, the organisation and location of training, spatial conditions and occupational health and safety, and the equipment in classrooms. The results also indicate that the quality of vocational training is an important factor for improving the trainees’ position in the labour market.
