The subject of research of this doctoral dissertation is the ideational foundations of contemporary strategic culture of Serbia. Specifically, the research amis to determine the set of ideas, beliefs, values, and attitudes that shape national identity and national character, key national and state interests, patterns of behavior, principles, and means of action in achieving goals, and finally, the perception of key historical events and personalities, as well as other actors of international politics (nations, alliances, etc.). The theoretical basis of this research is "moderate" constructivism, as a direction that apostrophizes the importance of ideological factors from the national level for shaping the identity, interests, and behavior of states. By operationalizing the definition of strategic culture, a total of four dimensions (identity, values, norms, and perceptive lens) were derived, which formed the analytical framework of the research into contemporary strategic culture of Serbia. The research time framework covers the period from 2019 to 2022. The research was realized by establishing two complementary research levels. The first research level consisted of the identification and description of ideas, beliefs, and values that determine the content of contemporary strategic culture of Serbia. In relation to this research level, the source of data was the textbooks of Serbian language and literature, history, and geography in primary and secondary schools. Qualitative analysis of the content of the textbooks of these subjects enabled the separation, classification, and analysis of ideational elements of contemporary strategic culture of Serbia in the context of derived dimensions. The second research level consisted in examining the attitudes of high school students in relation to the set of ideational elements identified and described in the first research level. The realization of this research level involved the creation of a survey questionnaire, structured according to the basic dimensions of contemporary strategic culture of Serbia. Overall, the research results made it possible to determine the ideational elements that shape the content of contemporary strategic culture of Serbia.

Предмет истраживања ове докторске дисертације јесте идеациона основа савремене стратешке културе Србије. Конкретно, истраживање има за циљ утврђивање скупа идеја, веровања, вредности и ставова који обликују националну самоспознају и национални карактер, кључне националне и државне интересе, обрасце понашања, принципе и средства поступања у остваривању циљева и, на крају, перцепцију кључних историјских догађаја и личности, као и других актера међународне политике (нација, савеза, итд.). Теоријско упориште овог истраживања чини „умерени― конструктивизам, као правац који апострофира значај идеационих чиниоца са националног нивоа за обликовање идентитета, интереса и понашања држава. Операционализацијом одређења стратешке културе изведене су укупно четири димензије (идентитет, вредности, норме и светоназор) које су чиниле аналитички оквир истраживања савремене стратешке културе Србије. Временски оквир истраживања обухвата период од 2019. до 2022. године. Истраживање је реализовано успостављањем два комплементарна истраживачка нивоа. Први истраживачки ниво састојао се у идентификацији и дескрипцију идеја, веровања и вредности које одређују садржај савремене стратешке културе Србије. У односу на овај истраживачки ниво извор података чинили су уџбеници наставних предмета српски језик и књижевност, историја и географија у основним и средњим школама. Квалитативна анализа садржаја уџбеника ових предмета омогућила је издвајање, разврставање и анализу идеационих елемената савремене стратешке културе Србије у контексту изведених димензија. Други истраживачки ниво састојао се у испитивању ставова средњошколаца у односу на скуп идеационих елемената идентификованих и описаних на првом истраживачком нивоу. Реализација овог истраживачког нивоа подразумевала је израду анкетног упитника, структурисаног према основним димензијама савремене стратешке културе Србије. Свеукупно, резултати истраживања омогућили су утврђивање идеационих елемената који одређују садржај савремене стратешке културе Србије.
