Тема дисертације се односи на емпиријски актуелну поставку српске политике и историјеполитичких идеја путем улоге Владике Николаја (Велимировића) у одређеним историјскимдогађајима. Проблематика истраживања је значајна и за савремени друштвени и политичкиживот. Велимировић је спознао да је историја широк простор где се дешава сцена преплитањаполитике и судбоносних догађаја. Садржај такве сцене је оно што видимо исказано у животнимвредностима.Фокус истраживања је на политиколошком деловању и теолошким принципимаполитичке праксе Владике. Са аспекта научног доприноса широј друштвеној заједници циљје разјашњење овог недовољно познатог дела српске историје. У теоријском смислу акценатје на проблемско-критичкој активности како би се показало да су Велимировићева политичкамисија и целокупно ратно ангажовање потекли од теолошких и патриотских мотива у истовреме. Његов патриотизам извире из једног српско-словенског, односно источно-хришћанскогпатриотизма. Николај Велимировић је апологета, бранилац хришћанског учења, али уједно ибранилац српског националног идентитета. Поред тога, он је имао значајан ауторитет и личнухаризму, те је оставио дубок траг у свом и пријатељским народима.У истраживању су коришћене основне, општенаучне методе прикупљања података ихерменеутичка метода. Резултати су довели до закључка да је Владика Николај као предстваникЦркве и државе, интелектуалац и космополита, могао да уприличи врсну дипломатску праксуу свету и допринесе својој Отаџбини. Његова улога духовног лидера у Великом рату је биланезамењива у политичкој структури Краљевине Србије, исто колико и у односу међудржавноги међуцрквеног уважавања.

The topic refers to the empirically current setting of Serbian politics and the history of politicalideas through the political role of Nikolaj Velimirovic in certain historical events. That is why thisissue is important for modern social and political life as well. Bishop Nikolaj realized that history is awide space where the scene of the interweaving of politics and fateful events takes place. The contentof such a scene is what we see expressed in the values of life.The focus of the research is the political activity and theological principles of the political practiceof an individual in a certain time. From the aspect of scientific contribution to the wider socialcommunity, the goal is to clarify the insufficient knowledge of this part of the history of the Serbs. Inthe theoretical sense, the emphasis is on problem-critical activity to show that political mission andthe entire war engagement of Velimirovic originated from theological and patriotic motives at thesame time. His patriotism stems from a Serbian-Slavic, that is, Eastern-Christian patriotism. NikolajVelimirović is an apologist, a defender of Christian teachings, but also a defender of the nationalidentity of the Serbs. In addition, he had significant authority and personal charisma, so he was oneof those apologists who left a deep mark on the people and nations.To reach certain results in the research: basic, general-scientific, data collection methods andthe hermeneutic method were used. The results led to the conclusion that Nikolaj Velimirovic, as arepresentative of the Church and the state, an intellectual and a cosmopolitan, could provide excellentdiplomatic practice in the world and contribute to his country. His role as a spiritual leader in theGreat War was irreplaceable in the political structure of the Kingdom of Serbia as well as in therelationship of inter-state and inter-Church respect.
