ABSTRACT Reference materials (RM) are used for calibrating apparatus, validating analytical methods and secondary RM, for professional laboratory testing. Although they are becoming an integral part of analytical investigations, RMs are still not widely used and there are considerable problems that analysts account when they decide to use them.
