Sažetak: U praktičnom smislu, Zbornik predstavlja direktan rezultat debatno-istraživačkog programa koji je u okviru Udruženja likovnih umetnika Srbije (ULUS) pokrenut septembra 2020. godine pod punim nazivom “Ka horizontalnosti u umetnosti: Mesto umetnosti u društvu i radni status umetnika u kontekstu postpandemijske krize kovid-19”. Ovim programom je otvoren prostor za kritičke refleksije nad kompleksnim relacijama društvene, političke i ekonomske sfere koje oblikuju polje rada u umetnosti i koncipiranje konkretnih predloga za intervenisanje u zakonodavnom sistemu kojim bi se delovanje u ovom polju na bolji način regulisalo. U pokušaju sagledavanja uslova rada u umetnosti u domaćim okvirima, ova publikacija nastala je u specifičnom kontekstu koji je bio određen borbom za bolji radni i društveni status umetnica i umetnika pokrenutih od strane ULUS-a i uvezivanjem iskustava ovakvih borbi na internacionalnom planu. Stoga ova publikacija ujedno čini tek parcijalni dokument situacije zatečene na terenu, ali i dokument inicijalnih napora uloženih u otvaranje diskurzivnog polja u kome se na konsistentniji način tek u budućnosti možemo baviti boljim uređenjem kako kulturne politike, tako i boljih javnih politika na širem planu.

Abstract: In a practical sense, the Edited Volume is a direct result of the debate-research program that was launched within the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS) in September 2020 under the full title "Towards horizontality in art: The place of art in society and the working status of artists in the context of the post-pandemic covid-19 crisis". With this program, space has been opened for critical reflections on the complex relations of the social, political and economic spheres that shape the field of work in art and the conception of concrete proposals for intervention in the legislative system, which would regulate the activities in this field in a better way. In an attempt to look at the conditions of work in art in the domestic framework, this publication was created in a specific context that was determined by the struggle for a better working and social status of artists initiated by ULUS and by linking the experiences of such struggles on the international level. Therefore, this publication is at the same time only a partial document of the situation encountered on the ground, but also a document of the initial efforts invested in opening a discursive field in which we can deal with better regulation of both cultural policy and better public policies on a broader plan in a more consistent way only in the future.
