Improving the efficiency of short food supply chains through mobile technologies
Abstract: The paper analyses the application of modern technologies in the field of short food supply chains. Thanks to the contribution of information and communication technologies and their application in agro-business, it is possible to achieve synchronisation and efficiency in the use of resources, placement of agro products, quality satisfaction of consumers' needs, environment preservation and increase of the competitiveness of a country. The essence of digitising short supply chains is to provide improved performance of farmers, continuous supply of industrial units as well as consumers by using modern technologies. The specific features of short supply chains are also a challenge in considering the application of mobile technologies for finding optimal solutions. The application of mobile technologies and cloud system, assisted by the optimization model and graph theory basis application can potentially provide an efficient, optimal and rational solution in the food supply chain system.
