У раду се, узимајући у обзир досадашња истраживања, тумачења и вредновања, проучавају елементи симболистичке поетике у савременој српској поезији, почев од педесетих година 20. века и поезије Бранка Миљковића до поезије Дејана Алексића. У кратком прегледу употребе термина симболизам у српској науци о књижевности, и термина неосимболизам, који настаје педесетих година, настојимо да одредимо поетички оквир за поезију која је предмет нашег тумачења. У том контексту песници о којима се у раду говори представници су оне линије српске поезије која се у једном сегменту може одредити као „наслеђе симболизма”. О њему се може говорити или у одређеној фази њиховог песништва или у песништву у целини. Због тога рад, осим тумачења појединачних текстова, циклуса и песничких збирки, указује и на промене унутар опуса ових стваралаца. Нагласак је на структури песничке слике, особености песничког поступка и природи симбола који у њему настају, као и на њиховом компаративном прегледу. Проучава се и тематско-мотивски комплекс, однос према песничкој традицији, цитатност, песнички израз и указује на облик песме. Њиховим сагледавањем препознаје се поетика симболистичког наслеђа у савременој српској поезији, коју стварају: Иван В. Лалић, Божидар Тимотијевић, Бранко Миљковић, Борислав Радовић, Петар Пајић, Велимир Лукић, Милован Данојлић, Драган Колунџија, Алек Вукадиновић, Милосав Тешић и Дејан Алексић. Истраживање треба да покаже место и значај ове поезије у савременом српском песништву, њене естетске вредности и домете, као и да представља прилог тумачењу српске књижевности у целини.

In one’s work, considering research, interpretation and evaluation done so far, elements of symbolistic poetics in contemporary Serbian poetry are studied, starting from the 1950s and the poetry of Branko Miljkovic to poetry of Dejan Aleksic. In a short overview of the usage of the term symbolism in Serbian science and literature, and the term neosymbolism which got established in the 50s, we strive to determine the poetic framework of the poetry which is the subject of our interpretation. In that matter, the poets in question are the representatives of that kind of Serbian poetry which in one segment can be specified as the „inheritance of symbolism“. It can be discussed as a specific phase of their poetry or the poetry as a whole. Because of that, besides interpreting texts, cycles and collections of poems individually, it points out the changes within the opus of these creators. The accent is on the structure of the poetic image, the peculiarity of the poetic process and the nature of the symbols that are created within, as well as on the comparative review. Choice of the thematic-motif complex, the attitude towards tradition, citation, poetic expressions are studied, as well as the form of the poem. By perceiving it, the poetic of the symbolistic heritage in Serbian contemporary poetry is being recognized and its creators are: Ivan V. Lalic, Bozidar Timotijevic, Branko Miljkovic, Borislav Radovic, Petar Pajic, Velimir Lukic, Milovan Danojlic, Dragan Kolundzija, Alek Vukadinovic, Milosav Tesic and Dejan Aleksic. The research should show the place and significance of this poetry in contemporary Serbian poetry, its aesthetic value andrange, as to represent a contribution to the interpretation of Serbian literature as a whole.
