Decision-making and management in mining is a demanding and complex task, dealingwith risks. Conventional and experiential decision-making approaches, in practice, oftenshow a weakness reflected in insufficient reliability and precision.The subject of the doctoral dissertation research, entitled "Improving decision-makingefficiency in mining using linear optimization models" is by observing the linearprogramming models to consider the formation of location models that would be based onthe analysis and adaptation of the existing as well as the newly introduced assumptions forcases such as limestone exploitation and consumption.This doctoral dissertation shows the linear model of location exploitation optimization andconsumption of limestone in Macedonia, with 29 production entities - open-pit mines, andtwo options of consumption entities, with 15 and 16 lime consumers. By changing one ofthe starting hypothesis, the number of consumers, the research shows that mathematicalmodel approach with adequate sensitivity to changes of relative parameters is necessaryfor a complete and reliable overview of system behavior. The model ensures a morecomplete and more reliable overview of impact that changes of relevant parameters haveon the optimal goal, provides possibilities to experiment by changing the basic hypothesisand the directing effect on the outcome. These hypothesis are illustrated and confirmed bythe results in this doctoral dissertation.

Одлучивање и управљање у рударству је захтеван и сложен задатак изложенризицима. Конвенционални-искуствени приступи доношења одлука, у пракси честопоказују слабост која се огледа у недовољној поузданости и прецизности.Предмет истраживања докторске дисертације, под називом „Побољшањеефикасности одлучивања у рударству применом линеарних оптимизационихмодела“ је да, сагледавањем научних метода линеарног програмирања, приступиформирању локацијских модела који би били засновани на анализи иприлагођавању постојећих и увођењу нових претпоставки за случајеве као што јеексплоатација и потрошња кречњака.У дисертацији је приказан линеарни модел локацијске оптимизације експлоатације ипотрошње кречњака у Македонији, са 29 производних ентитета – површинскихкопова, и две опције ентитета потрошње, са 15 и 16 потрошача кречњака. Изменомједне од полазних претпоставки, броја потрошача, истраживање показује да је запотпуно и поуздано сагледавање понашања система неопходан математичко-моделски приступ адекватне осетљивости на промене релевантних параметара.Модел омогућава потпуније и поузданије сагледавање деловања променарелевантних параметара на оптималан циљ, пружа могућност експериментисањамењањем основних претпоставки и усмеравајућег деловања на исход. Ове наводеилуструју и потврђују резултати истраживања изнети у дисертацији.
