Предмет истраживања је теоријски аспект магичног реализма и његова функција у приказивању стварности на примерима прозних дела савремене књижевности немачког језичког подручја. Основна хипотеза коју настојимо да докажемо у оквиру теоријског дела рада је следећа: термин магични реализам не само да је поникао на тлу Немачке, већ је и у немачкој науци о књижевности могуће успоставити теоријску нит која се развија истовремено, а можемо рећи и раније у односу на јужноамеричко подручје. Главни циљеви рада јесу указивање на значај немачке књижевно-теоријске мисли о магичном реализму, као и уочавање основних особина магичнореалистичног поступка у романима Лимени добош (Die Blechtrommel, 1959) немачког нобеловца Гинтера Граса (Günter Grass) и Зид (Die Wand, 1963) аустријске књижевнице Марлен Хаусхофер (Marlen Haushofer)...

The subject of this study is the theoretical aspect of magical realism and its function in the representation of reality in the examples of prose works of the contemporary literature of the German language area. The basic hypothesis we try to corroborate in the theoretical part of the paper is the following: not only did the term magical realism originate in Germany, but it is also possible to establish a theoretical thread in the German science of literature which developed at the same time, if not earlier in comparison to the South American area. The main goal of the paper is to emphasize the importance of German literary-theoretical thought on magical realism, as well as to specify the basic characteristics of the process of magical realism in The Tin Drum (Die Blechtrommel, 1959) by German Nobel Prize laureate Günter Grass and The Wall (Die Wand, 1963) by Austrian author Marlen Haushofer...
