The Islamic banking system which derives its ideological foundations from the basic sources of Islam and from the Islamic Sharia is a major pillar of the Islamic state in the field of economy. The last twenty years, Islamic banks recorded high rates of growth of assets, incomes and users by expanding its operations to countries where Muslims are a religious minority. In order to provide a good analysis and scientific explanations of the Islamic banking system, which is a key subject of this dissertation, the work begins from the political and social dimensions of Islam and from defining a position and role of the economic system in Islam. The case studies of this work are also theoretical basis, ideological foundations and the role of the Shariah Board, as well as the relations of the Islamic economic doctrine toward inflation, indexation, interest rates and commercial activities. Bearing in mind that, based on the past banking practices in Pakistan, Sudan and Iran, where the model of Islamic banking was a strategic national orientation, all current processes and trends are being reflected in the most efficient way. Therefore, the subject of this analysis will be financial and political systems of these countries, with a special emphasis on the analysis of the regulatory frameworks, market segmentation and business practices of Islamic banks. In the part of this work dedicated to the Malaysian financial system, the empirical research will be conducted with the analysis of the sustainability of the concept of solidary sharing of profits and losses in practice. The fact that the concept of interest rates in Islamic economy was never really abandoned contributed the most in the process of proving the author's claim of the increasing gap between the theoretical model and the contemporary practice of Islamic banks in the financial systems which are officially sharia. And this is one of the main objectives of this dissertation.

Исламски банкарски систем, који своју идеолошку основу црпи из основних извора ислама и исламског верозакона- шеријата, основни је стуб исламске државе у области економије. Последњих двадесет година исламске банке бележе високе стопе раста имовине, прихода и корисника услуга ширећи своје пословање и на земље у којима су муслимани религијска мањина. У циљу анализе и научне експликације исламског банкарског система, што је кључни предмет дисертације, у раду се најпре полази од политичко-социјалне димензија ислама и дефинисања положаја и улоге економског система у исламу. Предмет изучавања рада су и теоријске основе, идеолошка утемељеност и улога шеријатског одбора, као и односа исламске економске доктрине према инфлацији, индексацији, каматним и трговинским пословима. Имајући у виду да се на основу досадашње банкарске праксе у Пакистану, Судану и Ирану, у којима је модел исламског банкарства стратешко државно опредељење, на најефикаснији начин рефлектују сви актуелни процеси и трендови, предмет анализе ће бити финансијски и политички системи тих земаља, са посебним акцентом на анализи регулаторних оквира, тржишне сегментације и пословне праксе исламских банака. У оквиру дела рада посвећеном финансијском систему Малезије биће спроведено емпиријско истраживање у оквиру кога ће се анализирати одрживости концепта солидарне поделе профита и губитка у пракси.
