Forgeries were identified and tagged in the two or three dozen compilations in the sub-genre devoted to their diagnosis. It is impermissible to use or narrate them as Prophetic reports. Preventive knowledge of the forgeries is an indispensable part of hadith science. The guideline in this is the verdict of the authorities in this science. The Prophet said the following: "Avoid relating my words except what you know for sure. Whoever lies about me willfully, let him take from now his seat in the Fire!"

Falsifikati su otkriveni i označeni i nekoliko desetina kompilacija u podvrsti posvećenoj njihovoj dijagnozi. Nedopustivo ih je koristiti ili ih pripovedati kao prorokove događaje. U nauci o hadisu je nezamenjivi deo znanje kojim se štiti od falsifikata. Vodič u ovom slučaju jeste presuda autoriteta u ovoj nauci. Prorok je rekao sledeće: „Klonite se toga da se oslanjate na moje reči osim ako ne znate sa sigurnošću. Ko god namerno laže o meni, neka ovog trenutka zauzme mesto u vatri!“
