The author was nicknamed according to Hanafi school, the most widespread law school in Sunni Islam. The founder of the school, Abu Hanifa, lived from 699-767 AD. That legal school was the most influental in the regions of the Balkans, Turkey and parts of Iraq.

Autor je dobio nadimak po hanefijskoj školi, najrasprostranjenijoj pravnoj školi u sunitskom islamu. Osnivač škole Abu Hanifa živeo je 699-767. god. n.e. Ta pravna škola je bila najuticajnija na teritoriji Balkana, Turske i u pojedinim delovima Iraka.
