The object of the present study is the divine epithets in the collection known as Orphic Hymns (OH), consisting of 87 short hexameter poems, which is assumptively dated to the late Hellenistic or to the early Roman Imperial Age. In the introductory chapter (1), after defining the objective of the study a concise history of research on the topic as well as the starting point of this study is given. The following chapter (2) deals with the general problematic concerning the questions about the date and place of origin of the collection, its authorship and purpose. The central part of the study (3) is an exhaustive, alphabetically sorted catalogue of the monolexemic divine epithets occurring in the corpus of the OH. The excerption totaled 581 items; all the entries are constructed according to a lexicographical approach purposely devised for this research. In the fourth chapter a linguistic analysis of the materials is carried out. It includes a classification of the epithets according to the types of word formation (4.1), of the composite words also according to their first elements (4.2), and the frequency of particular word formation patterns among the OH hapaxes (4.3). There follows a stylistic analysis (5), elucidating different aspects of the important role the epithets play in the OH. The level of stylistic and linguistic invention and the amount of innovations shown by author(s) of the OH are considered in the concluding chapter (6), through a comparison with the previous hymnic tradition.

Предмет ове студије су епитети божанстава у збирци која је позната под именом Орфичке химне, која обухвата 87 краћих песничких састава у хексаметру и различито се датује, у позно хеленистичко или рано римско царско доба. У уводном поглављу (1) дефинише се циљ рада, даје сажет историјат досадашњих истраживања и оцењује полазна тачка за ово истраживање. Надовезује се поглавље у којем је изложена општа проблематика везана за питањe времена и места настанка текста, питање ауторства и намене збирке (2). Средишњи део рада чини исцрпан каталог монолексемних епитета божанстава у корпусу Химни, датих алфабетским редоследом. Укупно је ексцерпирана 581 одредница; све одреднице су уобличене по сегментираном, за потребе овог рада посебно осмишљеном лексикографском поступку (3). Четврто поглавље посвећено је језичкој анализи грађе и састоји се од три потпоглавља; у првом су сви епитети разврстани по творбеним типовима (4.1), у другом сложени епитети по својим предњим члановима (4.2), а у трећем је предочена фреквенција појединих творбених типова у категорији хапакса (4.3). Следи стилистичка анализа грађе (5), која са разних страна осветљава важну улогу епитета у Орфичким химнама. У закључном разматрању (6), кроз поређење са ранијом химничком традицијом, на језичко-стилском плану процењена је мера иновативности и инвентивности аутора Орфичких химни (једнога или више њих).
