Terrorist act can be motivated by various ideological goals, most often religeous ones, but if their followers, who are either ideological or religeous zealots, wish to penetrate deeper into some society they first work on how to gain a political power within the country of that society. This automatically implies political engagement, which means that the political aspect is an obligatory or mandatory feature in modern terrorism. Apart from mechanical breakdowns, airplane collisions and very frequent unseasonable weather conditions brought about by climate changes, airplane hijackings represent, without a shadow of a doubt, the biggest threat to air force, especially after brutal terrorist act performed on September 11, 2001 on mainland U.S. When observing airplane hijackings from the standpoint of politics, it is impotant to say that such hijackings are very often seen not only as the product of modern terrorist organisations, but rather as one negative segment which helps create one new world order through globalisation. Simultaneous use of telecommunication systems, communications and network connections between various people, especially beteween terrorists and those engaged in politics, is something that most certainly creates the biggest threat to safety on a global scale. Therefore, the very delicacy when it comes to analysing political aspects of aircraft hijackings is something that gradually becomes more and more important. Terrorist act of aircraft hijacking should definitely be analysed through one inevitable political context, whereas on the other hand this fact makes the analysis of the problem harder and more difficult to comprehend given that the politics was and still is the question we all ponder about in as much the same way as we do when it comes to terrorism. Terrorism is something that many people are still trying to define, and what is apparent from other researches conducted with regard to definition of terrorism is that the very word terrorism has and will continue to have a different meaning to various societies, countries, governments, organisations, groups...

Tерористичко деловање може да буде мотивисанo разним идеолошким циљевима, често и религиозним, али уколико његови носиоци, идеолошки и верски екстреми, желе да продру што дубље у неко друштво - првенствено морају да пораде на стицању политичке моћи. То аутоматски подразумева политичко деловање, што упућује на то да је политички аспект незаобилазна карактеристика савременог тероризма. Уз механичке кварове, сударе авиона и све неповољније временске услове које узрокују изражене климатске промене, отмице авиона, посебно после бруталног терористичког акта изведеног 11. септембра 2001. године, на америчком тлу, представљају несумњиво највећу претњу ваздухопловству. Политички аспекти отмице ваздухоплова данас се рефлектују не само као продукт модернизовања терористичких организација у сваком погледу, већ као негативан сегмент процеса стварања новог светског поретка кроз процес глобализације. Једновремени узлет комуникација, повезаност и умреженост различитих субјеката, посебно терориста и политике, генерише велику несигурност светског система. Стога, деликатност проучавања политичких аспеката отмица ваздухоплова добија на значају. Терористички чин отмице ваздухоплова свакако је неопходно посматрати у неизбежном политичком контексту, али та чињеница отежава проблем изучавања, с обзиром да је политика била и остала суштински споран појам, као и тероризам. Покушаји дефинисања тероризма трају до данас, а како истраживање теоријског приступа тероризму указује - још дуго ће имати различито значење за различита друштва, државе, владе, организације, групе...
