This paper considers the most important issues of pedagogical establishment of the work of primary school in Serbia. Our theoretical researches comprise numerous relevant questions related to pedagogical principles of the work of school, such as the organization of work, teaching process, the choice of teaching content, the position of students and teachers, preparedness and competence of teachers, as well as all outcomes of that process. We tried to emphasize the most principal paradigms of more successful educational work of schools in our paper. One of the obligatory questions in establishing pedagogical principles, regarding the general organization and the work of school, is the orientation within creating democratic society with the market orientation concerned with doing profitable business which is integrated into the modern European community. Therefore, globalization is also regarded as a direction that is set, in other words as a planetary process of homogenizing the world established on neoliberalism, market economy and extremely developed technique and technology. That process has its advantages as well as disadvantages. Furthermore, we tried to emphasize the most important directions of the development of our primary school in this paper. We particularly pointed out the fact that the change in the system of education in the institutions of education is impossible without the change of a teacher.Beside detailed theoretical research, the empirical one was also conducted. For the purposes of empirical research a special project was created keeping line with methodology of contemporary pedagogical researches, which consist of all necessary elements: the problem and object of the research, aim, tasks in regard to this, hypotheses according to which this research was previously planned. And then methods, techniques and instruments for conducting the research were chosen. Testing hypotheses was conducted using numerous statistical techniques and procedures and all this is substantiated with tables, graphs, histograms etc. Comprehensive literature sources as well as numerous online sources were used for theoretical and empirical research.

У раду се разматрају најбитнија питања педагошког утемељења рада основне школе у Србији. Теоријским проучавањима смо обухватили бројна битна питања везана за педагошке основе рада школе, као што су организација рада, тока наставног процеса, избора наставних садржаја, положаја ученика и наставника, припремљености и компетентности наставника, као и целокупне исходе тог процеса. У раду смо покушали назначити најосновније парадигме успешнијег васпитно-образовног рада школе. Незаобилазно питање у постављању педагошких основа, у општој организацији и раду школе, јесте оријентација у изграђивању демократског друштва са тржишном оријентацијом у привређивању, интегрисаног у модерну европску заједницу. С тим у вези је и питање глобализације. На глобализацију, у оквиру овог рада, гледали смо као на смерницу која је задата, односно као на планетарни процес хомогенизације света, утемељен на неолиберализму, тржишној економији и снажно развијеној техници и технологији. Тај процес има својих позитивних, али и негативних страна. Исто тако у раду смо покушали да укажемо на најбитније смерове развоја наше основне школе. Посебно смо истакли да нема промене у систему образовања и васпитања у институцијама васпитања и образовања без промене наставника.Поред темељног теоријског проучавања извршили смо и емпиријско истраживање. За емпиријско истраживање је сачињен посебан пројекат у складу са методологијом савремених педагошких истраживања, који садржи све неопходне елементе: проблем и предмет истраживања, циљ, задатке и у складу с тим, хипотезе (предпоставке) од којих се пошло у истраживање. Одабране су методе, технике и инструменти за истраживање. Тестирање хипотеза је вршено бројним статистичким техникама и поступцима и поткрепљено табелaма, графиконима, хистограмима и тсл. За теоријско и емпиријско истраживање коришћена је обимна литература, као и бројни one line извори.
