Изградња верских објеката је комплексна тема чије истраживање захтева повезивање различитих и не увек толико сродних дисциплина. Три основне дисциплине које се у истраживању преплићу су теологија, право и градитељство. Да би се разумео сложени поступак који претходи извођењу грађевинских радова као и начин извођења грађевинских радова на верским објектима, претходно је неопходно упознати се са теолошком симболиком и значајем изградње верских објеката унутар црквеног права. Поред црквених, неизоставно је познавање и световних прописа којима је регулисан поступак црквеног градитељства. Планирање и урбанизам, грађанско право и право грађења су елементи без којих је ово истраживање незамисливо.Због сложености теме и преплитања различитих научних области, циљ аутора је представљање и развијање проблематике верског градитељства, са или без конкретних решења. Примарни циљ је презентовање неистражене теме широј јавности и подстицај за додатна истраживања различитих научних профила из поменутих области. Оваквим приступом стиче се утисак да би форма рада више одговарала зборнику скупа радова стручњака из поменутих области, него монографији једног студента докторских студија. Са друге стране, ова комплексност представља изазов за аутора, да направи корак даље и упусти се у истраживање оних области које су изван оквира његовог досадашњег истраживачког рада.Подстицај за ово истраживање је чињеница да је тема изградње верских објеката практична и присутна реалност која повезује прошлост, садашњост и будућност. Од настанка хришћанства, црква гради верске објекте унутар којих се одвија литургијски и светотајински живот. Од проглашавања хришћанства слободном религијом па све до данас, основни облик ексотеричког испољавања вере је кроз лично и живо искуство које сведочи црквено градитељство тј. изградња верских објеката.

The construction of religious buildings is a complex topic the research of which requires the connection of different and not so related disciplines. The three main areas that are interwoven in the research are theology, law and construction. In order to understand the complex procedure that precedes the execution of construction works as well as the way of execution of construction works on religious buildings, it is first necessary to get acquainted with the theological symbolism and the importance of the construction of religious buildings within church law. In addition to ecclesiastical laws, knowledge of secular laws that regulate the process of church construction is indispensable. Planning and urbanism, civil law and construction law are elements without which this research is unthinkable.Aware of the fact that the topic is complex and requires approaches from different scientific profiles, the author's task is to show the complexity and presentation of the problem with or without specific solutions. The primary goal is to present an unexplored topic to the general public and encourage additional research of various scientific profiles in the aforementioned areas. With this approach, one gets the impression that the form of the work would be more suitable for a collection of works by experts in the mentioned fields, than for a monograph of a student. On the other hand, this complexity represents a challenge for the author to take a step further and embark on the research of those areas that are beyond the scope of his previous research work.The impetus for this research is the fact that the topic of building religious buildings is a practical and present reality that connects the past, present and future. Since the beginning of Christianity, the church has been building religious buildings within which liturgical and sacramental life takes place. From the declaration of Christianity as a free religion until today, the basic form of exoteric manifestation of faith is through personal and living experience as evidenced by church construction, i.e. construction of religious buildings. There is no period ofChristian history that has not been recorded by newly built religious buildings. The period in which we live confirms that the construction of religious buildings is a current, live and concrete topic characterized by constant progress and development.
