The thesis presents the results of research based on the corpus of epic poetry from the Balkans: Serbian and South Slavic epic tradition in which Relja Krilatica (Relja the Bosnian, Relja of Pazar, Relja the Six-winged) is sung about. In this way the corpus includes oral tradition which spans different periods of creation: the oldest writings of epic poems which are covered by the research date to 18th century, then writings from 19th century and those from the middle of 20th century, which are the most numerous. In addition to oral epic poems the thesis includes tradition and a lyric traditional poem. We define the relationship towards the hero and we determine the possible ways of interaction. Based on the available corpus we then observe the hero in different life stages and relationships: origin, naming, growing up and the first heroic act, the horse, his weapon, family context and relations, duels, enemies, death. In these segments of the epic biography we also notice an influence of the mythical heritage and we see the hero in the context of dragon heroes, the type of hero as a guardian and a mediator, which activates a spectrum of international motifs, conflicts and protection, which put the hero in certain positions and roles. In the analyzed corpus we observe thematic segments in which the hero Relja Krilatica is present (dragon fighting, rescuing; Philip Madzarin; getting married, the risa fish; murder of the “other”, Kosovo heroes, the forest singing ban, duels). We notice common characteristics in the South Slavic cultural area and we highlight the differences between areals where possible to compare. Observing the corpus through a diachronic vertical we notice that the narration of the hero develops in the last segment of recording, in the new narration.

Рад приказује резултате истраживања које је засновано на корпусу народне епске поезије са простора Балкана, тј. српске и јужнословенске епске традиције, у којој је опеван јунак Реља Крилатица (Реља Бошњанин, Реља од Пазара, Реља Шестокрили, итд.). На тај начин корпус обухвата усмену традицију, која је из различитих периода настајања: најстарији записи епских песама, који су обухваћени истраживањем, датирају из 18. века, потом записи из 19. века и записи до средине 20. века. Поред усмене епике, обухваћена су предања, лирска народна песма, утврђени су могући начини интеракције. На темељу доступног корпуса јунак се потом посматра кроз животне етапе и односе: порекло, именовање, одрастање и прво јунаштво, коњ, оружје, породични контекст, мегдани, непријатељи, смрт. У овим чиниоцима епске биографије уочавамо и значајан уплив митског наслеђа и посматрамо јунака у контексту змајевитих јунака, типа јунака које карактеришу архаичне представе о змају као чувару и медијатору, што активира и одређени спектар интернационалних мотива, сукоба и заштите, који јунака стављају у одређене позиције и дејства, те се отвара питање односа јунака и сижеа. У анализираном корпусу уочене су тематске целине у којима је јунак Реља Крилатица присутан (змајеборство, спасавање јунака; Филип Маџарин; женидба; риса риба; убиство „другог“; косовски јунаци, забрана певања кроз гору, мегдани). Примећене су заједничке карактеристике на јужнословенском културном простору и истакнуте су разлике између западног и источног ареала. Посматрајући грађу кроз дијахронијску вертикалу уочено је да се певање о јунаку у значајној мери развија у последњој етапи бележења, у тзв. новијем певању.
