Тумачење промене у поезији репрезентативних песника српског модернизма, оних који су у свомпесничком делу објединили искуство рата и изазов певања после рата, полази од хипотезе да се целина тепромене не може разумети уколико се не посматра однос песника према држави у Великом рату.Историчари, теоретичари и тумачи српске књижевности интерпретирали су и истакли различите аспектесмене поетичких парадигми у сукобу генерација ,,старих“ и „младих“ на почетку 20. века. Но, премда сепитање традиције налази у самој сржи разумевања поетичког преокрета, чини се да је фигура и улогадржаве у досадашњим истраживањима била недовољно осветљена. Будући да Србија, у сложеној историјивластите државности, одлукама Берлинског конгреса 1878. године, први пут, после тешког и дугог временаосманлијске репресивне власти, наступа као независна држава у свету, који је, 1914. године, свет тоталнограта, веза песника са таквом, модерном државом оставља дубоки траг на саму поетику. Односмодернистичких песника према отаџбини, дакле, не може се посматрати кроз пуку конфронтацију старијихгенерација које иза себе немају искуство фронта и нове струје песничких гласова који су непосреднодоживели трагизам ратовања у 20. веку. Зато смо настојали да покажемо далекосежне последице певања поповратку из рата, дакле, након суочавања са коренитим променама насталим у самом бићу поезије, коликои у бићу отаџбине – песник који се вратио из рата, вратио се у књижевност у којој је требало изразити свуонтичку тежину савремене државе и њених идеолошких прерогатива.Корпус ове дисертације чине песници који померили поетичке границе дијалога са традицијом тако штосу кроз тај дијалог, сваки у специфичности своје лирске имагинације, потпуно трансформисалиродољубиви и патриотски дискурс српске књижевности, стога фокус нашег рада чине Милош Црњански иРастко Петровић, Станислав Винавер и Душан Васиљев. Усредсређени на онај део песничког стваралаштвакоји се односи на Први светски рат и нови духовни и културноисторијски хоризонт певања по повратку израта, неретко смо, зарад потребе обухватнијег тумачења, укључили и друга књижевна остварења наведенихаутора. Разумевање модернистичке имагинације историјске судбине српског народа било би непотпуноуколико се на почетку херменеутичког подухвата посвећеног држави у тексту не би нашао Милутин Бојић,песник у чијем је болу, националном поносу и ,,плавој гробници“, колективна свест пригрлила смисаострадања и смрти...

Interpretation of the change in the poetry of representative poets of Serbian modernism, whose poetic art unitedthe experience of the war and the challenge of poetry writing after the war, starts from the hypothesis that theentirety of that change cannot be understood without observation of the poets’ attitude towards the state during theGreat War. Historians, theorists and interpreters of Serbian literature have interpreted and pointed out variousaspects of the change of poetic paradigms in the generational gap of the “older” and the “younger” at thebeginning of the 20th century. However, although the issue of tradition is in the essence of understanding of thepoetic shift, it seems that the figure and role of the state has been insufficiently clarified in the researchesundertaken so far. Due to a complex history of its statehood, pursuant to the decisions of the Congress of Berlin of1878, for the first time after a long and difficult period of repressive Ottoman rule, Serbia appears as anindependent country in the world. In 1914, that is the world of the absolute war, and the connection of a poet withsuch a modern state leaves a deep mark on the poetics. Thus, the attitude of the poets of modernism towards theirhomeland cannot be observed solely as a confrontation of the older generations with experience on the war fronts,and a newer wave of poetic voices, who directly experienced the tragedy of the time of war in the 20th century.That is why we have attempted to show far-fetched consequences of poetry writing upon return from the war,thus, after confronting the radical changes that occurred in the being of the poetry, as much as in the being of thehomeland – a poet who returned from the war returned to the literature where he had to express all the onticweight of a contemporary state and its ideological prerogatives.The corpus of this dissertation includes the poets who moved the poetic borders of the dialogue with thetradition. They used such a dialogue, each of them within the specifics of their lyric imagination, to completelytransform patriotic discourse of Serbian literature. Thus, we focus on Milos Crnjanski and Rastko Petrovic,Stanislav Vinaver and Dusan Vasiljev. With the emphasis on that part of poetic creativity that refers to the FirstWorld War, and the new spiritual and cultural historic horizon of poetry writing upon return from the war, we havefrequently, for the needs of more comprehensive interpretation, included other literary works of the named authors.Understanding of modernistic imagination of the historic destiny of Serbian people at the beginning of thishermeneutic endeavor dedicated to the state would be incomplete without including Milutin Bojic. This poet’spain, national pride and the “blue sea tomb” led the collective consciousness to embrace the purpose of sufferingand death...
