Abstract: Within the scope of the doctoral dissertation Reflections of the Orient and InterculturalInterplay in the Poetry of Muhamed Abdagic, we examine the extent to which the influence of theOrient and intercultural interplay are present in Muhamed Abdagic's poetry. The reflections of theOrient encompass Middle Eastern cultural and religious influences. We analyze the relationshipbetween culture and poetry. We have found that literary theories and cultural studies of literature arenot antagonistic but complement each other. The attitude towards culture in Abdagic's poetry iscomplex, and the analysis includes both his published and unpublished poetry. We have identifiedthe interplay of theocentric and anthropocentric perspectives, indicating the multifaceted nature ofhis poetics. Literary criticism did not significantly contribute to the affirmation of Abdagic's creativityin his time, but it aided in preserving his work from oblivion. By analyzing the religious subtextthrough comparative methods, we conclude that religion and art are interconnected but fundamentallydiffer in origin. Abdagic's poetry reflects themes of God, angels, sacred texts, destiny, life, death,particularly through Quranic-Biblical motifs. Additionally, we explore the interplay of MiddleEastern and European cultures, as well as the similarities and differences between the culturalmatrices of the Serbian and Bosnian peoples. This dissertation contributes to the understanding ofcultural and religious aspects of the twentieth-century poetry and the influence of these elements onthe aesthetics and thematic patterns of literary creativity.

Сажетак: У оквиру докторске дисертације Рефлекси Оријента и прожимање култура упоезији Мухамеда Абдагића анализирамо у којој мери је присутан утицај Оријента ипрожимање култура у поезији Мухамеда Абдагића. Рефлекси Оријента обухватајублискоисточне културне и религијске утицаје. Анализирамо однос културе и поезије.Установили смо да књижевне теорије и културолошке студије књижевности нисусупротстављене, већ се међусобно допуњују. Однос према култури у Абдагићевој поезији јекомплексан, а анализа укључује и његову објављену и необјављену поезију. Пронашли смопрожимање теоцентричних и антропоцентричних погледа на свет, што указује навишеслојност његове поетике. Књижевна критика није значајно допринела афирмацијиАбдагићевог стваралаштва у његово време, али је помогла у очувању његовог дела од заборава.Анализирајући религијски подтекст компаративном методом, закључујемо да су религија иуметност повезане, али се суштински разликују по пореклу. Абдагићева поезија рефлектујетеме о Богу, анђелима, светим текстовима, судбини, животу, смрти, посебно кроз куранско-библијске мотиве. Поред тога, истражујемо и прожимање блискоисточне и европске културе,као и сличности и разлике између културолошких матрица српског и бошњачког народа. Овадисертација представља допринос разумевању културних и религијских аспеката у поезији 20.века, као и утицају који ти елементи имају на естетику и тематске обрасце књижевногстваралаштва.
