Abstract: Supply chain management represents a set of a large number of processes and procedures within one company with the primary goal of delivering goods to customers with maximum utilization of resources, lower operating costs and optimization of the entire process. The modern way of doing business and increasing challenges at the global and regional level imposed the need to adjust the existing - traditional supply chains through process optimization, introduction of new sectors and application of innovative solutions in demand planning. By comparing traditional and optimized supply chains, parts of the process that need to be improved and adapted to the best practice that already exists in large business systems have been detected. Demand Planning - Demand planning is a prerequisite for meeting the primary goals of any business in terms of gaining competitive advantage, lower costs, less write-off, and customer satisfaction. The main specificity of modern supply chains within the food industry is increasingly adapting to consumer preferences, with a long-term view of market needs, following innovations in product development and analyzing available data. Every business strategy and decision that to a greater or lesser extent has an impact on the company's operations must have its own financial aspect and analysis so that it can be adopted or rejected. Consequently, employee training and development represent a key link in the chain of process optimization and improvement of any company. Knowledge and skills of employees in today's business environment represent the most important factor in competitive bidding and gaining a primary position in the market. For any business system, the rapid flow of information within the organization and cross-sector connectivity are very important, which aims to avoid or at least mitigate the bullwhip effect.

Apstrakt: Menadžment lanca snabdevanja predstavlja skup velikog broja procesa i procedura u okviru jedne kompanije sa primarnim ciljem isporuke robe kupcima uz maksimalnu iskorišćenost resursa, niže troškove poslovanja i optimizaciju celokupnog procesa. Savremen način poslovanja i sve veći izazovi na svetskom i regionalnom nivou nametnuli su potrebu prilagođavanja postojećih - tradicionalnih lanaca snabdevanja kroz optimizaciju procesa, uvođenja novih sektora i primenu inovatnih rešenja u planiranju tražnje. Komparacijom tradicionalnih i optimizovanih lanaca snabdevanja detektovani su delovi procesa koje je potrebno unaprediti i prilagoditi ih najboljoj praksi koja već postoji u velikim poslovnim sistemima. Planiranje tražnje – demand planning predstavlja preduslov za ispunjavanje primarnih ciljeva svake kompanije u pogledu sticanja konkurentske prednosti, nižu cenu koštanja, manjeg otpisa robe i zadovoljstvo kupaca. Glavna specifičnost modernih lanaca snabdevanja u okviru prehrambene industrije jeste sve više prilagođavanje preferencijama potrošača, uz dugoročno sagledavanje potreba tržišta, praćenje inovacija u razvijanju proizvoda i analizi dostupnih podataka. Svaka poslovna strategija i odluka koja u većoj ili manjoj meri ima uticaj na poslovanje kompanije, mora imati svoj finansijski aspekt i analizu kako bi mogla biti usvojena ili odbijena. Shodno tome, obuka i razvoj zaposlenih predstavljaju ključnu kariku u lancu optimizacije i unapređenja procesa svake kompanije. Znanje i veštine zaposlenih u današnjem poslovnom okruženju predstavljaju najbitniji faktor u konkurentskom nadmetanju i sticanju primarne pozicije na tržištu. Za svaki poslovni sistem veoma je značajan brz protok informacija u okviru organizacije i međusektorska povezanost, što ima za cilj izbegavanje ili u krajnoj meri ublažavanje efekta biča.
