An Émile Littré’s essay about the death of Alexander the Great, followed by a Nicolaus of Damascus’ fragment about the death of Julius Caesar. Émile Littré (1801–1881) was a French lexicographer and philosopher, best known for his Dictionnaire de la langue française (Dictionary of the French language, commonly called simply the "Littré"). Nicolaus of Damascus was a Greek historian and philosopher (1st century BC). He wrote a universal history in 144 books and a biography of Augustus, which are preserved only in fragments. Emil Litre (1801–1881) je bio francuski leksikograf i filozof, koji je ostao najpoznatiji po svom Dictionnaire de la langue française (Rečniku francuskog jezika, uobičajeno nazivanog jednostavno "Litre"). Nikolaj iz Damaska je bio grčki istoričar i filozof (1. vek p.n.e.). Napisao je opštu istoriju u 144 knjige i biografiju Avgusta, koje su sačuvane samo u fragmentima. Godina izdavanja: 1865.
