Ausfeld je posebno bio zainteresovan za istoriju razvoja Aleksandride, uglavnom za njene grčke verzije i napisao je nekoliko važnih dela na tu temu. Knjigu je posthumno objavio nemački filolog Vilhelm Krol (1869–1938). A German translation of the Byzantine versions of the Alexander romance, with the copious introduction and commentary by a German classical philologist Adolf Ausfeld (1855–1904). Ausfeld was especially interested in the history of development of the Alexander romance, mostly of its Greek versions, and he wrote several important works on that subject. The book was published posthumously by a German classical philologist Wilhelm Kroll (1869–1938). This copy of the book is especially interesting because it contains the annotations written by a German philologist and historian Heinrich Christensen (1849-1912). Year of publishing: 1907
