A doctoral dissertation about the sources of the the Strasbourg version of the Lamprecht Der Pfaffe’s Alexanderlied, written by a German historian of art Theodor Hampe (1866–1933). Lamprecht Der Pfaffe (The Priest) was a German poet of the 12th century. He is the author of the Alexanderlied, the first German secular epic composed on a French model, one of many medieval versions of the Alexander romance. According to Lamprecht’s own statement, the model of his epic was a poem on Alexander the Great by Albéric de Besançon, which is only partly preserved. The Alexanderlied is preserved in three manuscripts, of which the first (Vorau manuscript), although not complete, is regarded as the oldest and most authentic. The Strasburg manuscript is regarded as its amplified recension. Year of publishing: 1890

Doktorska disertacija nemačkog istoričara umetnosti Teodora Hampea (1866–1933) o izvorima strazburske verzije Lamprehtove Alexanderlied. Lampreht je bio nemački pesnik iz 12. veka. Napisao je Alexanderlied, prvi nemački svetovni ep komponovan po francuskom modelu, koji predstavlja jednu od mnogobrojnih srednjovekovnih verzija Romana o Aleksandru. Prema samom Lamprehtu, njegov ep je nastao po uzoru na ep o Aleksandru Velikom Alberika de Bezansona, koji je samo delimično sačuvan. Alexanderlied je sačuvana u tri rukopisa, od kojih se prvi (iz Foraua u Austriji), mada nepotpun, smatra za najstariji i najautentičniji. Strazburski rukopis se smatra za njegovu proširenu verziju.
