Иако је прозни опус Драгослава Михаиловића већ доста дуго предмет интензивног интересовања проучавалаца српске књижевности, осим радова који су, посебно у новије време, посветили своју пажњу питањима поетике овога писца, у критичкој литератури не постоји дело академског карактера које систематично приступа поменутом проблему.Стога је циљ нашег истраживања подразумевао и осврт на досадашње резултате до којих се у осветљавању особености Михаиловићевог начина приповедања дошло, потом оцртавање адекватне теоријске подлоге, те, коначно, детаљну анализу појединачних остварења, објављиваних у временском интервалу од 1967. године и прве збирке Фреде, лаку ноћ до последње објављене књиге Преживљавање из 2010, јер је једино тако, сматрамо, и било могуће утврдити карактеристике приповедачâ (уз бројне сличности, истаћи и несумњиве разлике), класификовати их, сачинити одговарајућу типологију и одредити функцију коју имају, другачије речено, указати на нераскидиву и изузетно значајну везу између приповедачког поступка и онога што се тим поступком остварује. Притом, кад год и онолико колико се то за интерепретацију чинило сврсисходним, позивали смо се на претпоставке које су у науку о књижевности увели проучаваоци различитих профила, нарочито наратолози попут Ж. Женета, М. Бал, Ш. Римон-Кенан, Х. Портера Абота, Џ. Принса и др.Разултати наше анализе наводе нас на закључак да је збиља реч о приповедачком опусу који је не само богат и сложен него и јединствен у оквирима наше књижевности друге половине XX и првих двеју деценија XXI столећа. Отуда, ова докторска дисертација треба да представља допринос продубљеном критичком сагледавању кључних одлика прозе Драгослава Михаиловића, као што треба да буде прилог тумачењу савремене српске књижевности.Кључне речи: Драгослав Михаиловић, уметничка проза, композиција, приповетка, венац приповедака, роман, приповедачки поступак, хомодијегеза, аутодијегеза, хетеродијегеза, сказ, језик.

Although the prose opus of Dragoslav Mihailović has for a long time already been in the focus of intense interest of Serbian literature scholars, apart from works which have, particularly recently, dealt with the questions of poetics of this writer, in critical literature there is no academic work that systematically analyses this matter.Therefore, the aim of our research also implied a review of the results achieved so far in the elucidation of features of Mihailović’s narrative techniques, including the definition of an adequate theoretical framework and, finally, a thorough analysis of concrete works, starting from the first collection of stories Frede, laku noć (Fred, Good Night) which was published in 1967 until the last book Preživljavanje (Survival) published in 2010. Only in such way, in our opinion, was it possible to determine the characteristics of narrators (and highlight indisputable differences along with numerous similarities), classify them, prepare an adequate typology and establish their function, i.e. underscore the inextricable and exceptionally important link between the narrative technique and the result obtained. At the same time, whenever and to the extent it seemed worthwhile for interpretation purposes, we referred to the assumptions introduced into the science of literature by scholars of various profiles, particularly the narratologists such as G. Genette, M. Bal, S. Rimmon-Kenan, H. Porter Abbott, G. Prince and others.The results of our analysis lead us to the conclusion that Mihailović’s narrative opus is truly not only rich and complex, but also unique in our literature in the second half of the 20th and the first two decades of the 21st century. Therefore, this doctoral dissertation should provide a contribution to an in-depth critical analysis of the key features of Dragoslav Mihailović’s prose, as well as to the interpretation of contemporary Serbian literature.
