In Verses 38-40 it states: "38: And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 39: And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. 40: It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit." To some, this is a contradiction to the basic scientific fact that the Sun is nearly at the center of our solar system and does not orbit the other planets. All the planets orbit the sun. However, others might argue that, taken from the broader scope of things in the universe, the sun is also moving around a heavenly body 'greater than itself' that we know of scientifically. As we know for a fact that just as the planets circle the Sun,the Sun and many other stars revolve around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. It is believed that there is a supermassive black hole at the Galactic Center of the Milky Way.

U stihovima 38-40 stoji sledeće: 38: I sunce se kreće svojom utvrđenom putanjom u određenom roku. To je odluka Svemogućeg, Sveznajućeg. 39: A mesec, za njega smo izmerili stanice sve dok se ne vrati kao stara isušena savijena peteljka. 40: Nije na suncu da prestigne mesec, niti na noći da nadmaši dan. Svi oni plove, svako u svojoj orbiti. Po nekima, ovo je protivrečno osnovnoj naučnoj činjenici da je sunce blizu središta našeg sunčevog sistema i da ne predstavlja orbitu drugim planetama. Međutim, drugi bi možda tvrdili da se, uzeto iz šireg uvida u pojave u univerzumu, sunce takođe okreće oko nekog nebeskog tela većeg od njega za koje imamo naučno saznanje. Kao što znamo za činjenicu da planete kruže oko sunca, tako i sunce i mnoge druge zvezde okrećuse oko središta galaksije Mlečnog puta. Postoji uverenje da se u galaktičkom središtu Mlečnog puta nalazi crna rupa ogromne mase.
