Bismi l-Lahi r-Raḥmani r-Raḥim, al-ḥamdu li l-Lahi l-laḏi nazzala...
Nepoznat,
The Muslim view considers that the Qur'an began with divine revelation to Muhammad in 610. All of these revelations were either memorized or written down during the lifetime of prophet Muhammad. These revelations were subsequently collected and were standardized in today's version by the caliph Uthman c. 653/654. The text was later given vowel pointing and punctuation in the seventh and eighth centuries. Non-Muslim scholars debate as to how Qur'an (in its present form) was transmitted. Traditionalist scholars accept much of early Muslim literature, albeit with a grain of salt, while skeptics reject this literature in its entirey. Both these views are generally opposed by Muslim academia.
