Opis (srp)

Duodecimalni čine većinu stanovništva u Iranu (90%), Azerbejdžanu (85%), Bahreinu (70%), Libanu (65% muslimana) i Iraku (65%). Zajdije čine veliki procenat stanovništva u Jemenu (45%). Ostale zemlje sa značajnim procentom šiita jesu Sirija (15%), Kuvajt (35%), Pakistan (33%), Indija (23% svih muslimana u Indiji), Avganistan (19%), Saudijska Arabija (18%), Turska (25%), Ujedinjeni Arapski Emirati (16%), Katar (15%), Albanija (25%). The largest Shia sect in the early 21st century is the Ithna ashariyyah (which constitute approximately 85% of all Shia Muslims worldwide), commonly referred to in English as the Twelvers, while smaller branches include the Ismaili (10% of all Shia) and Zaidi (3.5% of all Shia), who dispute the Twelver lineage of imams and beliefs. Twelvers constitute the majority of the population in Iran (90%), Azerbaijan (85%), Bahrain (70%), Lebanon (65% of Muslims) and Iraq (65%). Zaidiyyah constitute a considerable portion of Yemen (45%). Other countries with a significant proportion of Shia are Syria (15%), Kuwait (35%), Pakistan (33%), India (23% of Muslims), Afghanistan (19%), Saudi Arabia (18%), Turkey (25%), United Arab Emirates (16%), Qatar (15%), Albania (25%).
