Abu ‘Abdar-Rahmān al-Khalīl ibn Ahmad al-Farāhīdī (arapski: أبو عبد الرحمن الخليل بن أحمد الفراهيدي; DMG: al-ẖalīl b. Aḥmad al-Farāhīdī, Abū 'Abdar-Raḥḥmān; (oko 718–oko 791),poznatiji kao al-Farahidi bio je filolog iz južne Arabije (današnji Oman). Njegov najveći doprinos jesu delo Kitab al-ajn (arapski: كتاب العين, koje se smatra prvim rečnikom arapskog jezika), današnji standard zaharakat (oznake za samoglasnke u arapskom pismu) i izum a-aruda (studije o arapskoj prozodji). Preselio se u Basru u Iraku. Sibavajh i al-Asmai su bili njegovi učenici.
Abu ‘Abdar-Rahmān al-Khalīlibn Ahmad al-Farāhīdī (Arabic: أبو عبد الرحمن الخليل بن أحمد الفراهيدي; DMG: al-ẖalīl b. Aḥmad al-Farāhīdī, Abū 'Abdar-Raḥmān; c. 718–c. 791), more commonly known as al-Farahidi, was a philologist from southern Arabia (modern day Oman). His best known contributions are Kitab al-'Ayn (Arabic: كتاب العين, considered the first dictionary of the Arabic language), the current standard for Harakat (vowel marks in Arabic script), and the invention al-'arud (the study of Arabic prosody). He moved to Basra, Iraq. Sibawayhand Al-Asma'i were among his students.
