The Sun makes one nearly circular orbit around the galactic center about every 230 million years, moving at a speed of about 220 km/second. This agrees with the Quranic argument about the Sun revolving another celestial body. Also, an important point is to note that the same word used in Arabic for revolution can also denote rotation. Thus, it can also signify Solar rotation on its own axis every 24.47 days. The knowledge of Earth's orbit around the sun being a prevalent theory even during the time which the Qur'an was revealed, this verse can be viewed in the light that it was already understood that the Earth orbits the sun.

Sunce zaokruži jednu gotovo kružnu putanju oko galaktičkog centra skoro svakih 230 miliona godina krećući se brzinom od otprilike 220 km u sekundi. To se slaže sa kuranskom tvrdnjom da se sunce okreće oko nekog drugog nebeskog tela. Isto tako, važno je napomenuti da se u arapskom ista reč koristi za revoluciju nebeskih tela kao i za rotaciju. Shodno tome, to može značiti da se sunce okrene oko svoje ose svaka 24, 47 dana. Poznavanje zemljine orbite oko sunca kao opšte teorije čak i tokom perioda koji je otkriven u Kuranu pokazuje da se u tom poglavlju Kurana može videti činjenica da je već postojalo razumevanje da se zemlja okreće oko sunca.
