Many of the companions of the Prophet taught the Qur'an and its exegesis to the next generation of Muslims, Tabi'un. The conversion of many people from different faiths and walks of life made it imperative that the Tabi'un should not only treasure the existing information but also build on it a body of learning known as Ulum al-Qur'an. It is believed that within a half century after Muhammad's death three main schools of Qur'anictafsir had developed in Makkah, Madinah and Iraq. Year of publishing: 1721/1722.

Mnogi prorokovi pratioci su podučavali Kuran i njegovo tumačenje narednom pokolenju muslimana, tabiun. Konverzija velikog broja ljudi iz raznih vera i načina života njima je postavila imperativ da ne samo da čuvaju postojeće znanje već i da na njemu podignu niz nauka poznat kao ulum al-kuran. Postoji uverenje da su se za jednu polovinu veka posle Muhamedove smrti razvile tri glavne škole tumačenja Kurana, ona u Meki, Medini i u Iraku.
